Am Rande einer belgischen Stadt, hinter einem unscheinbaren Haus finden wir diese Sammlung alter Lancias. Das Haus selber ist auch verlassen aber leider absolut nicht lohnenswert. Deswegen sparen wir uns dort Fotos zu machen und konzentrieren uns auf die wirklich schönen Oldtimer auf dem Areal.
Anscheinend haben die Fahrzeuge wohl einmal dem Besitzer eines italienischen Restaurants gehört. Dieser scheint dann aber Hals über Kopf das Land verlassen zu haben.
Was mochte wohl passiert sein? Hatte er sich mit der Mafia angelegt? Die Steuer betrogen? Oder zwangen ihn andere Gründe dazu sich aus dem Staub zu machen?
Wir werden es vermutlich nie erfahren.
Die Autos jedenfalls waren den Besuch wert und wir knipsten bestimmt gut zwei Stunden in völliger Einsamkeit bevor wir uns wieder auf den Weg machten.
On the outskirts of a belgian town behind a mousy house we find this collection of old Lancias. The house itself is abandoned too but not worth a single photo and so we concentrate on the beautiful cars on the outside.
It seems as if the automobiles once where in the possession of the owner of an Italien Restaurant. He must have left Belgium in a hurry leaving everything behind.
What might have happened? Did he get into trouble with the mafia? Did he dodge the tax? Or was he forced to make a bolt for other reasons?
We are probably never going know.The cars where really worth the trip and we photographed for about two hours before we stroke off.
